On December 17, 2022, 44 Vernon Hills youths participated in the 7th annual Cops & Kids event. In many communities this program is known as Shop With A Cop. For this years event, officers from the Libertyville police department joined us as well as officers from College of Lake County PD and Lake County Sheriff's department.

It was a great day for everyone! The children were taken to Walmart where each child was treated to a $100 shopping spree while accompanied by a police officer. As you can imagine, hosting over 40 children and their families takes a lot of personnel. Successfully pulling off such an event would not be possible without the cooperation of many businesses, volunteers and, of course, police officers. Thank you to the many police officers, family members, coworkers, Village Hall employees, Hawthorn School District 73 and especially the VH Public Works employees for decorating their facilities. Without the help of these volunteers this event wouldn't be possible.

A huge shout out to our donors: Starbucks, Lakeside Transportation, Lee Donuts, Panera Bread, Joann Fabric, Just for Fun Roller Rink, Chik-fil-A, Sky Zone, Dave & Busters, Home Depot, Duck Donuts, Glacier Ice Rink, Corner Bakery, Atrium Business Park, Team Monica and Aspen Library.
