The last WM yard waste collection will be November 24 or 25, depending on your garbage collection schedule
- Please do not rake leaves into the street. They will clog the storm sewers and potentially cause flooding to your neighborhood.
- Leaves may be collected into containers marked with an "X" or kraft paper bags and tagged with Yard Waste collection stickers, which are available at local home improvement stores, Village Hall, WM and other local locations.
- Last collection day is Monday, November 24 or Tuesday, November 25, depending on your garbage collection schedule.
- Consider leaving the leaves – mulching into your yard or using as cover for your garden beds. More information is posted on the Village Go Green webpage.
- If you have pumpkins to recycle after Halloween, consider pumpkin composting opportunities provided by the Vernon Hills Park District (November 6) and Hawthorn Mall (November 7 and 8), as well as additional options outlined by SWALCO.
New WM Contract begins December 1
- Remember, the Village's new residential garbage collection contract provided by WM begins December 1. Information about pricing and services, as well as the process for making service changes, is outlined on the WM Contract webpage.
- Special note to HOAs that provide collection service on behalf of all of your residents – If you want to change your HOA purchasing group from 2x per week collection to 1x per week collection, please provide information directly to WM's Michael Brink. The process and required information is outlined on the WM Contract webpage.
