Flags covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act have been ordered to half-staff in honor and remembrance of Chicago Fire Department Captain David Meyer, who lost his life on April 23, 2025 due to injuries sustained while fighting a fire in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. Flags are to remain at half-staff until sunset on April 29.
