The Lake County Clerk's Office offers information on how to register and vote in the November 5 General Election.
- Lake County Clerk's Voter Services webpage offers all the information you need to register and vote. Note that if you have moved, changed your name, or are voting for the first time, you will need to register or re-register with the Clerk's Office.
- Registration: Voters must register, which may be done in person, on line, by mail and on election day at the polling place assigned to your address. Learn more at the Lake County Clerk's Voter Registration webpages.
- Voting Options: Options for casting your vote include Voting-by-Mail, Early Voting, and Election Day Voting at your assigned polling place. Learn more by visiting the Voting Options webpages.

- Early Voting started September 26 at the Lake County Clerk's Office, 18 N County Street, Room 101, Waukegan
- County-wide Early Voting was available starting October 21. The closest location for Vernon Hills residents is William E Peterson Park, 16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Prairie View/Buffalo Grove
- Check the Early Voting Sites list for voting locations and schedules – note that not all sites have the same schedules, and these sites are different than your Election Day voting location
- Early Voting ends November 4
- Registered voters may sign up for Voting-by-Mail at any time. Ballots are mailed out 40 days prior to any election. Voters using Voting-by-Mail may mail their ballots back to the Clerk's Office or use one of the secure Lake County ballot drop boxes.
