Permit applicants supply a cash bond at the time of permit issuance that is returned at the completion of the project. If the project does not pass final inspections, including failure to request a final inspection, the permit expires and the bond is forfeited. Per Section 5-173 of the Village Code, forfeited bonds may be transferred to the Village's general fund after one year.
