Lake County Public Works will conduct the fall water hydrant flush beginning September 9, weather permitting. The County flushes neighborhood water hydrants each spring and fall, following a schedule that services neighborhoods every few years.
This fall, the following Vernon Hills neighborhoods are on the schedule:
- Grosse Pointe – September 9 through 20
- Deerpath – September 16 through October 4
Flushing is conducted Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
During hydrant flushing, you may experience discoloration in your home's water, so it is recommended that you not do laundry during the actual flushing process. impacted homes should run cold water for several minutes to clear your pipes.
