To mark Peace Officer Memorial Day, flags will be lowered to half-staff on May 15. Peace Officer Memorial Day is a time when our nation remembers those fallen police personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
This remembrance is part of National Police Officer Week, which runs from May 12 to 18.
To further mark this week, please join police and fire agencies from around Lake County for the 25th Annual First Responders Expo, sponsored by the Lake County Fire Chiefs Association and the Lake County Chiefs of Police Association. The event will be held Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Gurnee Mills Parking Lot E.
Thank you to all who serve and protect.
We especially remember, honor and thank those who gave their lives doing so.
