The Village of Vernon Hills partners with American Legion Post 1247 to honor Village resident who currently or previously served in the US Armed Forces by creating light post banners. Residents, family members and others are invited to submit an application to be included in the 2024 banners.

2024 Military Banners were previewed this past fall when father and son veterans – Emil and John Iverson – got an early look at their banners, which are planned for display from Memorial Day to Veterans Day in the Village.
