Ribfest Attendance Notes

Due to a major construction project along Lakeview Parkway (adjacent to Ribfest), and in light of enhanced security procedures, please review the following notes.

ROAD CLOSURE

Southbound Lakeview Parkway will be closed at Center Drive on Friday, August 18 and Saturday, August 19 (map below)
Traffic going south on Lakeview Parkway will be directed to turn east onto Center Drive

PARKING

Attendees are encouraged to park in the upper level parking lot at Hawthorn Mall (map below)
Attendees with Handicap Placards are asked to check in with Officers on site to be directed to parking along Lakeview Parkway
Note that businesses located along Center Drive request that vehicles do not park on their lots

PEDESTRIANS

Construction has closed crossings and sidewalks at Lakeview Parkway and Townline Road, as well as at Lakeview and Hawthorn Parkways
Walkers will be assisted in crossing Lakeview Parkway at Center Drive
Pedestrians coming from the south are asked to cross Townline Road at Deerpath Drive
Pedestrians walking east along Hawthorn Parkway toward Ribfest will cross to the north side of Hawthorn and walk through the Rust-Oleum Center parking lot to enter the grounds

ENTRANCE/EXIT

The Vernon Hills Police Department and the Vernon Hills Park District have implemented enhanced security protocols similar to other Village festivals
There is one entrance and exit to the Ribfest site, which is located at Center Drive and Lakeview Parkway
The fest entrance/exit will be staffed by police officers supported by Blue Star Security
Bags will be checked prior to admission
No weapons are allowed on site
Re-entry is allowed with a hand stamp

EMERGENCY SHELTER

Should the need arise to evacuate or shelter attendees due to inclement weather or another emergency, people will be directed to:
