Ribfest Ingress Egress 2023

Ribfest Attendance Notes

Due to a major construction project along Lakeview Parkway (adjacent to Ribfest), and in light of enhanced security procedures, please review the following notes.


PARKING
  • Attendees are encouraged to park their vehicles in the Hawthorn Mall parking lot. (map appears below)
  • Businesses located off Center Drive request that vehicles do not park on their lots.
  • Attendees with Handicap Placards should check in with Officers to be directed to parking. 
 
PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
  • Pedestrians will be assisted in crossing Lakeview Parkway at Center Drive for those people walking from Hawthorn Mall (see map below).
  • Pedestrians coming from the south are directed to cross Townline Road at Deerpath.
  • Pedestrians walking east on Hawthorn Parkway toward Ribfest will cross to the north side of Hawthorn Parkway and walk through Rust-Oleum Center parking lot to enter the grounds.
  • Construction has closed crossings and sidewalks at Lakeview and Townline Road, as well as at Lakeview and Hawthorn Parkway


ENTRANCE/EXIT
  • VHPD and the Park District have implemented security protocols similar to other Village festivals
  • There is one entrance and one exit to the Ribfest site. The entrance is located at Center Drive and Lakeview Lakeview Parkway.
  • Fest entrance will be operated by two police officers and Blue Star Security.
  • Bags will be checked prior to admission.
  • No weapons are allowed on the site.
  • Re-entry to the site is allowed with a hand stamp. The exit will be operated by two officers.
 
EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES
Should the need arise to evacuate or shelter citizens due to inclement weather or other emergency, citizens will be directed to:
1. Holiday Inn Express (975 Lakeview Pkwy)
2. Lakeview Presbyterian Church (1100 Lakeview Pkwy)
 
ALL PERSONS, BAGS, AND PROPERTY ARE SUBJECT TO SEARCH
 
PROHIBITED ITEMS:
• Weapons
• Coolers
• Pets
• Outside Alcohol
• Bicycles
