Extended Overnight Parking Permits

To assist residents whose unique circumstances require an increase in the need to park on the street overnight. The Village of Vernon Hills has created a permit process.  Note: There are two separate permitting processes: Multi-Family Neighborhoods and Single-Family Neighborhoods.

To be eligible to obtain a permit:

  • Residents must have exhausted all house hold parking options and exhibit unique circumstances requiring special consideration.
  • Residents must currently be utilizing their garages and driveways to full design capacity to park household, non-commercial vehicles. This excludes boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles etc.
  • Garage stalls and driveway space must remain open and available for parking throughout the duration of the Overnight Parking Permit.
  • Applicants must complete a permit application and pay associated permit fees.
