Please help those in need by donating non-perishable food products, household and personal items to the Vernon/Libertyville Township Food Pantry

2019 PARADE REGISTRATION

Register now for the Vernon Hills July 4th Parade.  

Volunteers are always need to assist on the 4th with the staging of the parade.  If you are interested or would like mor information, contact LisaF@vhills.org or call 847-918-3562.


BINGO
Vernon Hills American Legion Post 1247 will be hosting BINGO at the Vernon Hills Golf Course, 291 Evergreen Drive on the first Thursday of the month. The next event will be Thursday April 4 beginning at 6:30PM.  Proceeds go to support programs sponsored by the Post, such as the Wounded Warrior Project among others. A cash bar along with food is available from the Vernon Hills Golf Course Grill.


VHHS Spring Concert

March 20th at 7:30 pm

[Vernon Hills, Illinois] The Spring Choir Concert will be Wednesday, March 20, at 7:30pm in the VHHS Auditorium. This year's theme will be "Songs of Childhood" and will feature all Treble, Bass, Concert, and Chamber Choir. From the jubilant "Run Children Run" to the tender "Softness of My Mother's Hands" to the witty "Lambscapes" (four hilarious settings of Mary Had a Little Lamb set in the style of Handel, Schubert, Gregorian Chant, and Verdi) to the reflective spiritual "Calling My Children Home," this concert will highlight the exuberance, innocence, and nostalgia of childhood.

VHHS Wind Ensemble Performs at 35th Annual 
New Trier Invitational Concert

On Friday, March 15th, the VHHS Wind Ensemble will be the guest ensemble for the 35th Annual New Trier Invitational Concert in Cornog Auditorium! The VHHS portion of the concert program will include the Four Scottish Dances and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Additionally, Rejouissance by Jim Curnow will be performed with the guest director for the concert, Mr. Dennis Zeisler.

Bunny Rock 5K and Egg Hunt

April 13, 2019 and the Hawthorn Mall in Vernon Hills and the 5K race starts at 8:30 a.m.  Participants receive bunny ears, neon sunglasses and a dri-fit t-shirt.  The Egg Hunt is for ages 2-10 and begins at 9:45 a.m.  There will be 3000 candy filled eggs along the course, a live petting zoo with over 20 animals and opportunities to have your child's picture taken with the Easter Bunny.  Children will receive baskets for their eggs, bunny ears and sunglasses.

Awards: Specialized medals will be handed out to the top 3 male and female finishers in all age groups.  The overall top 3 male and female finishers will also receive a Bunny Rock mug.
Charity: Proceeds from the race will benefit Reach Rescue, Inc., a local no-kill animal shelter whose mission is fostering, rescuing and sheltering homeless animals.

March 14: College hosts fourth annual Veterans Creative Arts Festival
More than 100 area military veterans will display their creative talents in writing, dance, drama and music at the fourth annual Veterans Creative Arts Festival at the College of Lake County Thursday, March 14 from 1-3 p.m. in the Room A011 Auditorium on the Grayslake Campus. March 26: Interactive art and music experience of Artrageous comes to JLC
Artrageous, an interactive combination of art studio, rock concert and creation lab, comes to the College of Lake County at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. Adult Education students explore careers at Feb. 27 success fair
More than 260 students in the College of Lake County’s Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education and English as a Second Language program attended a Feb. 27 Student Success Fair to set their academic goals and explore CLC career programs.
