The Village received notification from US Healthvest indicating their request to remove themselves from the July 18 meeting. The Village will work with US Healthvest on scheduling a future meeting but no set date has been determined.

Arbotheater Concert July 20 "FINAL SAY" 


Final Say was formed in 2007 and is owned and operated by the members of the band Maggie Speaks. Whether it is alternative, classic rock, soul, Motown, New Wave, Big Hair Rock, R&B, the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s. Final Say delivers the right music for any occasion


The Arbortheater is located at 50 S. Fairway Drive, just north of the Vernon Hills Athletic Complex (VHAC). Concerts are held on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.. In case of rain the concerts will relocate at the Sullivan Center at 635 North Aspen Drive.

Concerts are open to the public and everyone is invited. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and picnic basket and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

During the concerts the main parking lot is blocked off for handicap and seniors. Concert parking is in the Rogers Executive Park II parking lot adjacent to the Arbortheater. The Arbortheater can also be accessed on the bike path through Deerpath Park just north of the Castle.

Vernon Hills Park District’s Little Bear Ribfest

Little Bear Ribfest will be held Friday, August 18 from 6 pm-11 pm and Saturday, August 19 from 4 pm-11 pm in Century Park, 1001 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills.  There is a $5 entry fee payable at the gate.  Six vendors will be selling their delicious ribs at a nominal cost including Big Ed’s BBQ, Real Urban Barbecue, The Full Slab Smokehouse and Bar, BBQ’d Productions Bar & Grill, Smokin’ T’s Bar-B-Que and Superb Grill. The Mundelein/Vernon Hills/Lincolnshire Rotary Club will be roasting Corn and Bobo's restaurant will be offering ice cream and other desserts.  Beverages will be plenty including a variety of beer, wine and soda.
 
All of the entertainment showcases award winning blues artists!  Friday night's entertainment begins with Billy Flynn at 7 pm and Lurrie Bell takes the stage at 9 pm. The Red, White, and Blues Band perform at 5 pm on Saturday night.  Laura Rain and the Caesars follow at 7 pm and at 9 pm, Danielle Nicole takes the stage.
 
Bring your lawn chairs and relax by the lake as you listen to the best Blues music while enjoying delicious ribs and cold beer!

If you have flood damage, what should you do?

Lake County and its partners are continuing with the damage assessment process. The details within this report will help determine eligibility for federal assistance.  The form must be completed by Monday, July 24, 2017.  This form will be utilized by Lake County and unfortunately does not guarantee reimbursement for flood damage by the State of Federal governmental agencies.

  • Fill out this form to report your damage.

  • If your home or personal property was damaged by the flooding, contact your insurance company to determine coverage and start the claim process. 
  • Residents should complete emergency clean-up activities that may include removing water damaged property (carpeting, cabinets, etc.).  Be sure to document your flood damage with pictures and keep all receipts related to the clean-up and repair of your property.

CLC student wins bronze medal at SkillsUSA national competition
David Garcia, a College of Lake County student majoring in automotive collision repair, won a bronze medal in collision repair technology at the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, held June 19-23 in Louisville, Ky.

College to host information sessions on truck driving, healthcare careers and more
Careers ranging from truck driving to nursing will be the focus of information sessions being offered at the College of Lake County in late July and August. Each session includes an overview of duties, a typical day, salary, job outlook and educational requirements. No RSVP is required. The following sessions take place at the Grayslake Campus, 19351 W. Washington St., unless indicated otherwise:
