2017 Vernon Hills Live!

The VHHS Backlight Theatre Company will be producing the 2017 VHL (Vernon Hills Live) sketch Comedy Show in the Studio Theatre on June 6 at 9:00 pm.  Admission is free but it will cost you to leave!

Hawthorn District 73 News

Hawthorn District 73 is inviting new families to register their children for the Fall 2017 school year. Families whose children will enroll in District 73 schools for the first time in Fall 2017, should fill out the following forms ~ http://www.hawthorn73.org/hawthorn-information/registration/  ~ and turn them into the registrar during a scheduled visit. Please visit your local library to print out required forms if you don’t have access to a printer. To schedule an appointment with the registrar, please call 847-990-4217 or 847-990-4280 or email the registrar at registration@hawthorn73.org.

Parking Permit Reminder from the Vernon Hills Police Department

If you live in either the New Century Town, Plymouth Farms or Westwood subdivisions and are the current holder of a police-issued overnight parking permit, remember that the 3-year permits expire May 31, 2017.
 
Current permit holders should have already received a renewal letter and form needed to renew the permit(s) through May, 2020. The form (and payment) needs to be returned to the Police Department Records Section prior to May 31. The Records Section is open Monday - Friday, from 8:00am - 6:00 pm. at 740 Lakeview Parkway.
 
Residents who do not have a current permit and are interested in learning about obtaining one should call 847-362-4449 and press 1 to be connected to the Records Section.

Road Rehabilitation Tentative Work For The Week Of May 30th

Our contractor Schroeder Asphalt Services Inc. will continue the asphalt pavement grinding in the Plymouth Farm/Westwood area. Pavement patching may also begin, weather permitting.  Parking on all project streets during the hours of 7:00 am until 5:00 pm will not be allowed until further notice.   Daytime and overnight parking restrictions on these streets will be enforced by the Police Department until further notice to allow our contractor to complete the asphalt repairs and paving.  Motorist can expect delays during the asphalt construction portion of the project.
 
Our website (www.vernonhills.org.) will be updated each Friday with tentative construction information for the following week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact Public Works, Carissa Hansen at (847) 367-3726 between the hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday.
