The Village of Vernon Hills has selected Kevin Timony as Village Manager. Timony was formally approved during the May 4 Village Board Meeting, and is expected to begin July 6.
Timony has served as Wauconda Village Administrator since 2017. Prior to that, he worked for the Village of Grayslake, beginning in 2008 as a Management Assistant and working his way to the Assistant Village Manager role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Marketing from Loyola University, and an MBA from North Park University.
Timony’s selection comes with the retirement of Mark Fleischhauer, who took the helm at Village Hall after serving as Vernon Hills Chief of Police.
Working with the search firm GovHR, the Village received 76 applications, which underwent a rigorous screening followed by interviews.
“We had the opportunity to review so many tremendous applications, and meet with a number of exceptional candidates,” notes current Village Manager Fleischhauer. “Kevin stood out based on his experience, his knowledge of the community, and his enthusiasm. I look forward to handing him my office keys and spending time with my wife, grandkids and fishing.”
Timony is equally ready to begin his new role. “As a longtime resident of central Lake County, Vernon Hills has always stood out as one of the area’s premier communities. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the residents and businesses of Vernon Hills alongside the Village President, Board of Trustees and Village Staff.”
