Hawthorn Parkway Water Tower to be Renovated

As a part of Lake County’s Capital Improvement Program, Lake County Public Works will be rehabilitating the Hawthorn Water Tower located on Hawthorn Parkway east of Butterfield Road in Vernon Hills.  The project consists of repairing and repainting the 500,000-gallon water tower. During the project, a large containment curtain will be installed to contain materials during paint removal and to prevent over spray during paint application. The ground surface will be protected with tarps to contain materials that fall to the ground. Construction is anticipated to begin in late July/early August of 2020 and will last for about three months. It is the mission of Lake County to provide safe and reliable water to our customers, and this project will help us preserve our current system.
