Notice from Lake County Public Works & Lake County Health Departments:
CLCJAWA provides water to Lake County Public Works who then distributes it to Vernon Hills and Wildwood. They will conduct repairs on the primary water lines supporting Vernon Hills starting on June 18th. The system will operate normally utilizing water stored in reservoirs as the repairs take place. Lake County Public Works is requesting that residents conserve their water usage during this period of time to reduce the chance of a potential shortage if the reserves should become depleted. Residents are also urged to store any water they may need during this time as a precaution.
Residents and businesses will continue to have water during the repair, however, please limit the usage to only what is necessary for your needs. The anticipated completion date is Friday, June 21, or possibly sooner. There is a chance the County will have to issue a boil water notice if the initial water quality test is inconclusive. If so, the water would be safe to use for showers, toilets and laundry, but you would need to boil water used for drinking or cooking.
The repairs are unlikely to cause any disruption to customers but please conserve water starting next Tuesday to ensure we don’t have any issues. Please contact Lake County Public Works for all questions and concerns between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm at 847-377-7500. Lake County Public Works will notify residents when the repairs are completed and will update their website at lakecountyil.gov/publicworks.
