- A continued commitment to an active forestry program
- The establishment of solid waste programs that promote environmentally sensitive alternatives such as recycling and composting
- The use of storm water management techniques that promote water quality
Department Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Public Works Department include maintenance and repair of the Village infrastructure, property, and equipment. Public Works has the greatest variety of responsibilities of any Village department by providing many of the basic services that affect the daily lives of everyone who lives and works in Vernon Hills.The Department also provides:
