RESOLUTION 2003-91

A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION 2003-37 AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT WITH U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION FOR WORK AT THE PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING

WHEREAS, in the 2002/2003 budget and specifically in Account 0209046-550040 is $110,000 to address four items at the Public Works Building: modifications to the main floor trench drain, resurfacing the concrete floor area with new materials, and application of an epoxy surface to the block walls in the wash bay:

AND WHEREAS; APEX PARTNERS provided a proposal but is unable to provide the required insurance and their cost for a performance bond was not approved by the Village staff;

AND WHEREAS; U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION was a subcontractor to APEX PARTNERS on this project;

AND WHEREAS; U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION has submitted a contract and will provide the performance bond and necessary insurance for this work;

AND WHEREAS; U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION submitted a proposal of $43,560 to reconstruct the 12” trench drain at the Public Works Building with a 4” trench drain and the staff has requested the installation of an 8” trench drain at an additional cost of $8,500;

AND WHEREAS, U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION cost to resurface the wash bay floor and walls is $14,700;

AND WHEREAS, U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION cost to resurface a portion of the floor in the mechanics bay is $5,200;

AND WHEREAS, U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION cost to resurface a portion of the floor in the garage floor is $14,800;

AND WHEREAS, the Village has requested a performance bond after the initial proposal and the U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION cost is $2,170, which is an additional $1,170 for the proposed amount;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF VERNON HILLS, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

That Village Board approves the contract with U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION and authorizes the Village Manager to sign said contract;

AND THAT the revised Purchase Order is issued to U.S.FLOOR CORPORATION and increased from $87,760 to $88,930, which is an increase of $1,170.
