RESOLUTION 2003 – 161

A RESOLUTION TO WAIVE BID REQUIREMENTS IN FAVOR OF RECEIVING QUOTES AND TO AUTHORIZE APPROVAL OF KEMPER SPORTS MANAGEMENT TO PURCHASE IRRIGATION SYSTEM MATERIALS FROM JOHN DEERE LANDSCAPES IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $9,000 AND TO PAY AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, IN CONJUNCTION WITH KEMPER PERSONNEL, AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,200 FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE MATERIALS AT VILLAGE’S NINE HOLE GOLF COURSE FOR THE 2003 FISCAL YEAR.

WHEREAS, the Village Board has determined that Kemper Sports Management is well suited to manage the golf course for its residents; and

Whereas, the irrigation system is in need of repair and upgrades and that Kemper has received two credible quotes regarding this work and found John Deere Landscapes to be qualified and have the lowest quote; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF VERNON HILLS, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

THAT, the Village Manager or his designee is authorized to approve the work and the Finance Department is authorized to execute payments to John Deere Landscapes in an amount not to exceed $9,000 and to pay Mr. Ed Kruse an amount not to exceed $2,200 for his services in the installation of the irrigation system at the Village’s Nine Hole Golf Course.
