RESOLUTION
2003-144
WHEREAS, in
2001, the United States Department of the Interior, Federal Lands to Parks
Program conveyed the former Libertyville Training site (commonly known as the
Vernon Hills Athletic Complex) to the Village of Vernon Hills, except for the portions known as
Site 6A and 10A; and
WHEREAS, this
quit claim deed conveys the remaining surplus Federal property; and
WHEREAS, all
appropriate notices and applications were filed through the Federal Land to
Parks Program to acquire said surplus federal property; and
WHEREAS, it is
the desire of United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service,
to convey said property to the Village of Vernon Hills.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
VERNON HILLS, LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
That the Village President is authorized to execute the Quitclaim Deed, attached hereto, accepting the conveyance of Libertyville Training Site known as Nike Site 6A and 10A from the United States of America, acting by and through the Regional Director, National Park Service, Northeast Region.
