RESOLUTION 2003-115

APPOINTMENT TO

THE SOLID WASTE AGENCY OF LAKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS (SWALCO)

WHEREAS, the Village of Vernon Hills has entered into an Agreement Establishing the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Section 8 of said Agreement requires the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, Illinois (SWALCO) to be governed by a Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS, Section 8 of said Agreement provides that each member of SWALCO shall appoint a Director by a vote of the corporate authorities, said Director being (a) Mayor or President of the Member, (b) Trustee, Councilperson, or Alderman or (c) Chief Administrative Officer of the Member; and (d) Chief Administrative Office responsible for Solid Waste Matters; and

WHEREAS, said Agreement also provides for the appointment of one or more Alternate Directors; and

WHEREAS, the terms of the current appointment of the Director and Alternate(s) expired on April 30, 2003, (or thereafter until the respective successor is appointed).

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Vernon Hills reappoints Assistant to the Village Manager Evan Teich as Director to SWALCO and appoints Trustees Cindy Hebda & Richard Duros as Alternate Director(s) to SWALCO upon approval of this Resolution to serve in said capacity until April 30, 2005, or until such successor is appointed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk is ordered to distribute a certified copy of this Resolution to the appointee(s) and the Secretary of SWALCO, 1311 N. Estes Street, Gurnee, IL 60031.
