ORDINANCE 2003-60

 

AN ORDINANCE DECLARING CERTAIN VILLAGE PROPERTY TO BE SURPLUS AND PROVIDING FOR THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION

 

            WHEREAS, it has been determined according to the state statutes and Village ordinances by the corporate authorities of the Village of Vernon Hills that there exist certain surplus property; and

 

            WHEREAS, the corporate authorities desire to sell such surplus property by public auction; and

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Vernon Hills, Lake County, Illinois as follows:

 

            SECTION I.     The following property the Village of Vernon Hills is found and declared to be surplus namely.

 

(1)            1990 Buick Rivera Coupe VIN 1G4EZ13C3LU417399                    

            SECTION II.   The said surplus vehicles are to be sold at public auction and the Director of Public Works is hereby directed to deliver the surplus vehicles to the auction.

 

            SECTION III.   The said surplus vehicles shall individually be withdrawn from the sale at the public auction unless the following minimum sums shall be bid for said vehicle:

           

1.      For the 1990 Buick Rivera Coupe described in Section I (1) above, the minimum acceptable sum shall be  $500.

            SECTION IV.   SEVERABILITY.  In the event that any section, clause, provision, or part of this ordinance shall be found and valid parts that are severable from the invalid parts shall remain in full force and effect.  If any part of this ordinance is found to be invalid in any one or more of its several application, all valid applications that are severable from the invalid applications shall remain in effect.

 

            SECTION V.   REPEAL AND SAVINGS CLAUSE.  All ordinances of parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall affect any rights, actions or causes of action which shall have accrued to the Village of Vernon Hills prior to the effective date of this ordinance.

 

            SECTION VI.    EFFECTIVE DATE.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.

 

            SECTION VII.    PUBLICATION.  This ordinance shall be published in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.

 

            SECTION VIII.    ORDINANCE NUMBER.  This ordinance shall be known as Ordinance Number 2003-60.
