Our next class is Tuesday, May 24, 2011!
Since 1994, the Vernon Hills Police Department has offered a free 2-hour women’s self-defense class to residents of Vernon Hills age 8 and up (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult). The instructor for the class is a former police officer and an expert in self-defense.
The class is usually scheduled for the fourth Tuesday of May from 7pm - 9 pm.
Some of the topics that are covered in the class are: basic principles of survival and awareness; vulnerable areas of the body; psychology of fear and how to make it work for you; and the basic principles of self-defense.
The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2011*. If you're interested, but the class isn't for awhile, you can always contact the Crime Prevention Unit now and ask to be placed on the waiting list. Or contact us if you have any questions.
