The Vernon Hills Police Department is among the many agencies and communities that participate in an auction at the Grant Township Highway Department (26535 W. Molidor Road, Ingleside) in May of each year.  

Items which are auctioned typically include a large number of unclaimed bicycles, as well as other unclaimed recovered items.
