What can I do about a suspected case of the West Nile Virus?
Your best bet is to contact the Lake County Health Department. They have a fully-trained staff that specifically handles cases concerning dead birds, mosquitos infestations, and standing or stagnant waters, as well as symptoms of West Nile when humans are infected.

One last thing the Health Department asked us to pass along: the West Nile Virus CANNOT be transferred to humans through contact with a dead animal. With that being said, please handle any suspected cases with the utmost of care.
