How to Contest a Parking Ticket

The first step is to bring the ticket into the police station and request a Mediation form. After you have completed the form it will be forwarded to the issuing officer for his/her review and recommendations. You will be notified after it is reviewed. If the officer feels the ticket was justified, you can then take the matter in front of a Village Hearing Officer for review. Bear in mind that you should act promptly regardless of how you proceed, since the fines will escalate.
