On Sunday, June 15, 2008, Corporal Josh Gauiran arrived back home in VH in style. After a lengthy flight delay, Josh was picked up at O'Hare by a limousine and escorted through the Village by the VHPD. About 30-40 family members, friends, and neighbors waited out the delay and greeted Josh outside his home at 11:00 PM.
On Tuesday, June 17th, VHPD members picked up Josh and escorted him through the Grosse Point subdivision to the Village Hall, where Josh was recognized by Mayor Roger Bryne and the Village Board for his service to the US.
Josh served in Iraq for seven months and was part of the 3D AABN Charlie Company Unit 40575 (Amphibious Assault). Josh has been a Marine for two years and is looking forward to his next assignment. Welcome home Josh and good luck in the future!
