June 22, 2010 - There are two events this week that can help others while making yourself feel good for helping!

Through Friday, June 25, 10am - 2pm: CDW is hosting a collection drive to send care packages to our military through an organization called Operation Support Our Troops Illinois (OSOT-IL).  Their mission is to support the needs of our U.S. Armed Forces deployed in harm's way.  The group sends care packages of items that are not readily available - and the need right now is great!

AIT has donated a 20-foot box truck, which will be positioned in the northeast corner of the CDW parking lot at 200 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Vernon Hills.  Most needed items are: Slim Jims (beef jerky), individual packets of mayonnaise, crackers, nasal spray, eye drops, foot powder, cereal bars, body wash, mircrowave popcorn and anti-itch and antibiotic creams.  

Thursday, June 24, 11:30am - 1:30pm:  Join us at the 6th Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life Luncheon! 

Relay for Life is an overnight event designed to celebrate cancer survivorship and to raise money for research and programs.  Team Vernon Hills has put together this luncheon to help raise money for this great cause.

For a $5.00 donation (more is always welcome), you receive a burger, brat or hotdog, plus chips and a drink.  In addition, enjoy the musical entertainment provided by Gus Stagg (blues/jazz/folk) and the company of good friends.

It feels good to help others!  Please stop by either (or both) of these events!
