December 19, 2008 - Oh, the weather outside was frightful, but the friends and family were so delighted to welcome home Corporal Michael Daniel (USMC) for the holidays.  A school bus met Michael at Midway Airport, filled with his loved ones and close friends.  When the bus entered Vernon Hills, it was greeted by the Vernon Hills, Libertyville and Lincolnshire Police Departments.  As part of Operation Welcome Home, a program funded soley through donations and coordinated by the VHPD and Libertyville PD, Michael received a special proclamation, as well as gift certificates from Hawthorn Westfield Mall and Olive Garden.  No amount of snow could prevent the smiles from warming the occassion!
