This December you have two opportunities: one to learn and one to help.
On Thursday, December 3, the Police Department is sponsoring an Identity Theft Seminar. This free class, instructed by Citibank, can help you avoid being a victim of identity theft, or, if you ever become a victim, will show you what to do. Identity Theft is the fastest growing crime in the nation - learn how NOT be a statistic! The class will be at 6 pm at the police station. Please contact Ofc. And, on a note of giving instead of receiving: help us make this a special Christmas for those in need. Every year, the Village of Vernon Hills participates in the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program. We even donate $700-800 worth of toys ourselves! But we'd sure love to make this an extra-special holiday for even more kids. You can help by dropping of new, unwrapped toys at the police station (24 hours a day) or the village hall (Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm).
