May 16, 2007 - Today, Officer Greg Slivka was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. This is the fifth promotion in the past two years for the VHPD, which marks a growing trend in the rank structure we hope does not end soon. Greg is a 20-year veteran who has served on the Department's tactical team for two years and was an investigator for five years. He has recently been his day shift's Officer In Charge while back in the patrol ranks. Above on the left, newly sworn-in Sgt. Slivka takes his oath of office from Village Clerk Linda Pelletier. On the right, Sgt. Sliv is pictured with Chief Mark Fleischhauer. Pictured below are Deputy Chief Bill Price (left) and Commander Kurt Rutz (right). They were also in attendance at Greg's ceremony and Chief Fleischhauer presented them with gifts for their 25-years of service with the VHPD. Congratulations and good luck to Greg, Bill, and Kurt from all of us!
