March 28, 2011 - WARNING! The Vernon Hills Police Department has received several reports of individuals posing as association workers to gain access to homes. The reports have generally come from the Manor Homes area of town, but we would like to warn everyone. The suspects, described as Hispanic men, are telling homeowners they are from the association and need to look at the owners' roofs for maintenance. The offenders are driving a late model Dodge pickup, silver or gray, with a ladder rack, but no ladders.
If you see this vehicle, or have a similar incident happen to you, please contact the police department immediately.
