Hot, hot, hot!

August 3, 2011 - Despite the heat (and humidity), yesterday's National Night Out was a huge success - again!  We cooked almost 650 hamburgers and hot dogs before we had to end the event early due to a strong storm heading in.  But before that happned, crafts were created, games were played and pictures were taken.  The fire department, as promised, soaked any and all who entered the ball fields.  We had 3 different inflatables for some jumping fun and several different carnival games, as well as the annual volleyball tournament.  Fun, fun, fun!  Because of the storm, we had leftover food, which was donated to the Waukegan Salvation Army Food Kitchen.  So many people still won!

We want to thank all of our sponsors, especially A-Z Entertainment (who provided some great music and entertainment) and Target (who provided not only a large portion of the food, but many volunteers), as well as our own members of the police department.  Volunteers are all that keep this event going and we couldn't have done it without them!

If you attended the event, we would love to get some feedback!  E-mail a message!
