April 22, 2010 - Honor Flight Chicago is an organization that is dedicated to thanking our Veterans by sending them to Washington D.C. for a day of honor, at no cost to the veteran. Our very own Blue Line for The Front Line is working with Honor Flight Chicago in their effort. In the meantime, we are looking for all our local World War II and Korean War veterans to attend a pre-Memorial Day event on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:00 am at Vernon Hills' Arbortheater, 50 Fairway Drive.
Any veteran who is interested in attending this memorial and would like his/her name read at Roll Call, please contact Ed Sychta at 847-548-2808. Special arrangements are being made at Hawthorn Lakes (Linda Mullen 847-367-2516) and The Park (Sherri Imperial 847-793-7009).
We would love to see plenty of residents and guests at the event, but unfortunately there is extremely limited parking, as well as limited space within the Arbortheater itself. If you would like to attend, we ask that you park across the street and leave plenty of room for our veterans.
