Dogs on Leashes

September 20, 2010 - The Vernon Hills Police Department has received several complaints recently regarding owners letting their dogs run free, so we thought it would help to have a reminder.

Vernon Hills ordinance (Chapter 1, Article II, Section 4-43) requires all dogs (and cats) to be on leashes when not on the owners' personal property.  Failure to abide by this ordinance may result in escalating fees; the more it happens, the more the fine will be.  Please, let's keep our streets and parks safe for everyone and keep our pets on leashes.
