April 5, 2011 - Spring has sprung and you know what that means... Spring cleaning! The Vernon Hills Police Department will again be participating the Coats for Veterans coat drive. This program provides needed coats and gloves for our veterans who have fallen on hard times. The official ceremony is in October, so why do I mention this now? Again, spring cleaning! As you're cleaning out your closets, you may run across some winter clothing that you know you won't want or need for next winter. So instead of throwing out those gently used articles, you can drop them off at the Vernon Hills Police Department, any time, any day, and we'll hold on to them until October. We'll remind you again in September, buy why hold on to those coats and gloves that are just taking up space in your closet. Come put them in ours and help out a veteran! For more information, contact Officer Sharon Joseph by e-mail or at 847-247-4889. |
