2010 Road Rehab

August 9, 2010 - Here is an update on the Deerpath roadwork:

Apollo Court, Alice Court, Aqua Court, Abbey Lane and Aspen Drive

Work this week includes asphalt patching, clean up, placement of the prime (oil) coat and the beginning of asphalt paving.  This work is dependent upon dry weather, and is subject to change.

Placement of the prime (oil) coat will precede the placement of asphalt leveling binder, and then the placement of the new asphalt surface course.  Asphalt can be driven on shortly after placement and final rolling.  Installation of improved pavement markings, punchlist work and restoration will begin after the final paving is completed.

During this phase of construction, parking on the streets during the day is prohibited.  "Fresh Oil" signs will be placed 24 hours in advance of placement and residents are asked to proceed slowly through these areas.  The prime coat (oil) will tack shortly after placement.

Expect delays and follow the traffic control flaggers for direction.

If you find that oil has been splashed onto your car, it can be removed using a bug and tar removal product sold at most auto parts stores.  Unfortunately, oil tracked onto driveways cannot be removed.  If you are not sure if the oil has tacked sufficiently, do not proceed onto your driveway until later in the afternoon.

Affected residents are encouraged to read the "Road Rehab Frequently Asked Questions" posted on the Engineering Division web page.

We will appreciate your patience and cooperation during this construction.  If you have any questions, contact Carissa Hansen at (847)367-3726.
