VHPD Takes the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

Febrary 24, 2007 - Despite temperatures in the low 30s and wind gusts up to 20 MPH, six members of the VHPD "took one for the team" and jumped into the freezing waters of the Fox Lake to help raise money for the Special Olympics.

The team (AKA the "VHPD Plungers") consisted of Andy Jones, Mike Katzenstein, Jim Levicki, Andi Nevin, Jack Rabey, and Bill Price. Together, they raised over $900 for the cause and they are all gearing up for next year's event!

The high point of the day came when the Plungers were awarded a First Place trophy for best team costume ... congrats to all! Check out the below pictures to see how the day shaped up.
