Bike Safety Quiz

  3. You're riding your bike on the sidewalk and you're approaching a driveway. You see someone get into a car parked in the driveway. You should:
    Keep going; they're probably just unloading groceries.
    Come to a complete stop and walk your bike across the driveway.
    Continue to watch the car, put your hands (or foot) on the brakes,
         and be ready to stop if necessary.
    Pedal faster - it's time to race!

  4. We all know you should wear a helmet EVERY TIME you ride your bike. The proper fit for your chin strap is:
    As tight as possible under the chin.
    Snug, yet you should be able to fit two of your fingers between
         the chin strap and your chin.
    Loose enough so you look cool.
    However you find it.

  5. When you are in the store/pool/school, and your bike is unattended, you should:
    Hide it behind a bush.
    Leave it any ol' way in a bike rack. This is Vernon Hills,
         bikes don't get stolen here.
    Who cares? I didn't pay for the bike!
    Take the extra 30 seconds to lock your bike PROPERLY
         to a bike rack or other immovable object.
