Veterans Assistance Commission Presents Awards to VHPD Officers
On December 18, three members of the Vernon Hills Police Department received awards from the Lake County Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC).

Commander Todd Williams received a Patriotic Achievement Challenge coin and Medal of Honor Challenge coin for his service to several veterans causes, including:

Officer Dan Mead and Officer Santos Rodriquez received certificates and recognition for Outstanding Service to Indigent Veterans and their families, and Medal of Honor Challenge coins. Officers Mead and Rodriquez coordinate the Motors on Milwaukee Cruise Nights. An element of these shows is the collection of new or gently used coats for the Midwest Veterans Closet. Officer Rodriquez also collects coats at the Vernon Hills High School during his role as the School Resource Officer (SRO).

Thank you to the VAC for recognizing these three officers for their contributions.
