Call him Sgt. Andy Jones!
After almost 21 years with the Vernon Hills Police Department, Officer Andy Jones is now Sergeant Andy Jones! On Monday, July 25, before dozens of family members, friends, coworkers and Village officials, Andy took the oath from Village Manager/Clerk John Kalmar.

Andy's resume is very impressive. Since coming to us from Lindenhurst PD back in 1995, in addition to working patrol, he has served as an Investigator, Juvenile Officer, Evidence Technician, Use of Force Instructor, Breathalyzer Operator, OIC (Officer-In-Charge), FTO (Field Training Officer), BASSET Instructor and Citizen's Police Academy Instructor. For many years Andy was the School Resource Officer for District 73 and he is in his 13th year as a member of the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force.  He has received dozens of letters of appreciation and commendation from both residents and police officials, including two commendations late in 2015 for his work in solving a number of area residential burglaries.

Congratulations Sgt. Jones!  Your promotion is well-deserved.
