At the Village Board meeting on Tuesday, September 19, Chief Patrick Kreis presented Officer Joe Reyna and Officer Ken James with the Department Lifesaving Award.
On July 21 both officers responded on a call of a possible drug overdoes and found a twenty-two year old male in full respiratory arrest. Officer Reyna and Officer James promptly administered three doses of Naloxone. Thanks to their efforts, the subject was conscious when the ambulance arrived to transport him to the hospital.
This is Officer James' second Lifesaving Award and Officer Reyna's fourth.
